Meet the Coaches:
Coach Bernie Lang
Bernie played for legendary high school coach Bill Krueger at Clear Lake HS. (Coach Krueger retired in 1996 as the winningest high school coach in America with a record of 1096-250.) As a two-time All District player at Clear Lake HS, he also earned district MVP and 1st team All-Houston honors during his senior year (1981). After HS, Bernie played college basketball at Lee Jr. College and Southwest Texas State (now Texas State). While at Southwest Texas, Billy Gilliespie (Head Coach - Texas Tech) served as a mentor and assistant coach.
Since CUTtheNETS’ inception in 2006, Bernie has coached several select AAU teams. Bernie has coached 2 summers at the Duke Basketball Summer Camp.
Earning a B.A. in marketing at Southwest Texas in 1985, Bernie works as a sales representative for Shepherd Controls. Bernie and his family currently reside in The Woodlands, TX.
